Wilder will stop Helenius early if he fights aggressively using fury tactics, says Malik Scott

Scott thinks the 6’6 ″ Helenius will try to use his Fury-style size to support the leaner Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) to wear him down. Malik warns that if Helenius (31-3, 20 KOs) tries that tactic, he will be cleaned up and wake up later wondering what happened.

Wilder vs. Helenius will be the main event of FOX Sports pay-per-view. Scott says that if Wilder wins, he wants him to challenge the next IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua.

Malik isn’t interested in Wilder facing former unified champion Andy Ruiz Jr because it’s not a fight that will have a world title up for grabs.

“He’s going to try to use Tyson Fury’s tactics by knocking D back. We know he’s not that kind of fighter, but he’s going to try it against Deontay because he’s seen someone else succeed with his own body stature,” Malik Scott told Fighthype about what believes Robert Helenius will rehearse on October 15th.

“If he is adamant in doing what he says he will do, he will find very soon in this fight that it will not happen. He will find out what it feels like to be hit by that man [Wilder] with 10oz gloves under the lights with 20,000 people cheering.

“It’s a completely different environment. Helenius knows who Deontay is. He fought him, but he’s not a good spar, Helenius. That is why it is very dangerous. You can go in there and have great days against him, but that’s not what it is.

“It shows up at night, and that’s why. But what makes us dangerous is that I know who he is. The fact that I know who he is and Deontay that he knows who he is makes us much better prepared. The more prepared we are, the more dangerous we are.

“The more disciplined Deontay, the more dangerous he is. I want the second half of his career to be a lot of fun, a lot of fun. This is what we aim for and also to leave.

“Either way, he’ll go away from there, but if he’s adamant about coming forward and trying Tyson Fury’s tactics, he’ll find out very, very soon, and he’ll wake up and realize it’s all over.

“You have to be yourself. You are not Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury is not you. They are two different animals. Deontay is really motivated, he is working hard and we have a very dangerous opponent in front of us, Helenius.

“It is so dangerous that in an interview years ago when Emanuel [Steward] praised Deontay and Fury, in that same interview, 30 seconds later, he said, “There’s another guy, Robert Helenius, who’s cute, pretty good, and I like him too.” Years later, we sit here fighting it.

“I’ve been studying film for years because I should have fought it once. I always think about his style because he makes hands up, controls things and makes good pivots. Makes beautiful feints.

“So the kind of style he fights is very good enough for a great man. It’s our job to make up for him, it’s our job to make a statement, and it’s our job to get rid of him, dress him up and take him out. This is what Deontay will do, ”Malik said.

“Robert (Helenius) has had a streak of straight wins, and he’s here; I’ve heard it should be mandatory for (Oleksandr) Usyk, but I know it will come with his A +++ game, ”Wilder said.
